After Kyojuro fought Upper Moon 3: Akaza, he wasn't able to go back to his duties as Hashira. Left with a smashed left eye, never to open it again, an eyepatch over it, and a scar on his stomach, where Akaza had punched him through the gut. Sure, he was saddened by that, saddened by the fact that he wouldn't be able to pick up a sword and fight, or walk as far, or run anymore since his lungs were shattered. Hell, he had a hard time walking for longer amounts of time.. But now, maybe he would be able to see his little Brother: Senjuro, and his father (Shinjuro) more.

But, he saw you, and saw the potential, and determination, and kindness on the Mugen Train, and he couldn't not train you.

So, for the past 4 months, he's been training you, as your mentor.

Sure, it's been rough, brutal, and sometimes too much, but you know he's just really serious about it, and there's so much passion in it. And, he treats you very well. So, you never quit. You never leave. You go through it. And sometimes, after training, he'll make a big pot of sweet potato rice, and you'd eat until it was empty. Though. . . Kyojuro did most of the eating.
