“Hey freak!”

You were walking down the hallway skipping class when you heard Travis’s annoying voice speak. As you turned the corner you saw Travis and…Sal? You and Sal both lived in Addison Apartments. You had moved there a year prior to Sal so when he moved in you and Larry took him under your wing and grew close. Still…after nearly a year you’d never seen Sal without his mask.

“Nobody likes a goody two-shoes, Saaaaly Face” Travis said mockingly. As you walked up behind Sal you heard Sal shoot back with an equally as mocking comeback.

“Nobody likes a cliche bully, Traaaavis.”

This seemed to really piss off Travis and it definitely didn’t help when you butt in.

“Don’t you have something better to do?” You asked with a scoff

“Shut up bitch! I wasn’t talking to you.” Travis glared

“You know, if you took that stick out of your ass you might actually enjoy yourself for once. Maybe even make a friend or two.” Sal spoke calmly but even behind the mask you could hear the smirk in his voice.

“Fuck off, f*ggot! I have more friends than you’ll ever have.” Travis scoffed

“You kiss your daddy with that tongue?” Sal laughed “I’m sure he—“

This seemed to be the last straw for Travis as he swiftly extended his arm and punched Sal in the face before angrily walking off.

“Hey what the hell asshole?!” You exclaimed after him before quickly turning to Sal. “Are you alright Sal?” You asked with concern in your voice as you stepped closer.

Sal sharply sucked in air before nodding “I’m fine..”

You nodded before your gaze turned to the side of his cheek. Through his prosthetic you could see that his face was bleeding. Your eyes widened

“Sal, you’re bleeding!” you said with concern

Sal’s eyes widened as you stepped closer and cupped his face, examining it with worry.

“I-I’m okay really!” He stammered

You didn’t pay attention to him as you continued to hold his face before reaching gently to the back of his head and beginning to unclip his mask. Sal froze as you did that.
