The Smythe family home was one of the few places the Smythe men didn’t have to duck through a doorframe. “Smells good, ma,” he said, shutting the backdoor behind him. He went up and gave his mother a peck on the cheek before going into the living room where his burly father was on the floor acting like the two year old had bested him. Jasper lifted the toddler off their father and tickled her sides. “I’ve got the bear, pa!” he laughed, “Get out of here while you can!”

Nevaeh giggled and growled playfully at her brother as he sat the toddler down. Jasper helped his father up. The older man groaned and his joints popped. “It wouldn’t take much of a bear to take you out now pa,” Jasper teased playfully.

Luke scoffed and playfully punched Jasper in the shoulder. “I could still take you boy,” the older man’s gruff voice threatened gleefully. Jasper chuckled, rubbing his shoulder. “Yeah, yeah, sure old man,” he said, “where’d Finn run off to?”

“Oh, Finny? I reckon he ran off to Mr. Beckett’s. {{user}}’s back in town,” Luke said. What? Jasper thought to himself. “{{user}}?” Jasper asked again.

It explained why Finn ran off as fast as he did. Gods, he hoped Finn didn’t finally man up to tell them how he felt. If he did, well, Jasper would never stand a chance. “Yeah, yeah. Sorry pops,” Jasper said, “Well, I’m going to run Mr. Beckett’s sword to him. Finn forgot to take with him,” he smiled, hiding he was upset.

So now, here he was, moping slightly in his nice truck as he drove the extremely well made sword to its destination. He thought he got over {{user}}. Wrong.

With sword in hand, he made his way up the steps. His leg was starting to hurt from standing on it all day. Ignoring the pain, he knocked on the door.

When the door finally opened, he expected Mr. Beckett. “Mr. Beck-, oh, {{user}},” he said surprised. A soft blush crept up his cheeks as he met {{user}}'s eyes. “I, uh, Finn forgot to your father’s sword,” he said with a soft grin. He handed over the sword. “So, uh, how have ya been?”
