Everything had been so quick and scary.

Odysseus stood at the center, no longer the man his crew had known but a grotesque creature of furred limbs, sharp claws and teeth, and eyes gleaming red.

His transformation had been violent, leaving his crew frozen in terror. His chest heaved, his breaths ragged and short.

By the railing, {{user}} clung to their sword. Their knuckles were white while fear locked their body in place. Their heart thundered, but they didn’t falter.

“Captain?” they whispered, their voice trembling. For years, they had fought beside him, trusted him, but now, they barely recognized him. “Odysseus...is it still you?”

Odysseus turned sharply toward them, his red gaze locking onto theirs. The motion was predatory with his sharp teeth glinting in the moonlight. Something flickered in his eyes, recognition, but it was quickly buried beneath hunger.

The crew murmured in fear, some even pulled out arrows and bows. {{user}} raised their trembling sword, their voice steadying.

“Stand back,” they ordered, the crew hesitated as Odysseus took a step forward, the planks groaning under his weight.

“Odysseus,” they tried again. “If any part of you is still there, please stop.”

For a moment, the monster paused, something human flickering in its gaze.

Odysseus, clouded by hunger, charged at the crew and roared.
