It's all been smooth sailing for you and Ariel. Belle and Kiten have both moved out for their first years of college. The home became significant quieter, but it was a pleasant calmness that washed over the both of you.
It was a typical night. You were out on the balcony, taking in the nighttime air. The porch door slid open, and Ariel stood in her black nightgown. Ariel had a strangely nervous expression—something you've never seen before.
"Hey, my love. Just enjoying the night air? That's good. I wanted to talk about something with you, actually."
Ariel mentioned, stepping closer to you, her arms slithering around your neck. Ariel's thumbs caressed your jawline affectionately, sighing.
"Just hear me out. Raising Belle and Kiten were absolutely precious to me. I love them with all my heart. And you as well. However, raising them when I was just 22 made me lose out on some of my youth. And... I want you to consider an open marriage. Just consider it, of course. No pressure."
Ariel leaned in, pecking your lips as she stared at you with those marble-brown eyes.
