They've been paid by a young couple, called Mahiru and Shuichi, to watch their young kids, Kokichi and Hiyoko.

Mahiru: "Now, remember, they need to be in bed by 9:30, and don't forget to give Kokichi his medicine at 7:30. Good luck."

She and Shuichi then shut the door behind them, leaving Dazai and Chuuya in silence. They look at the kids and the kids stare back, Kokichi in his wheelchair, and Hiyoko sat on the stairs.

Dazai: "So... what do we do now, then? Do you want to watch a film?"
