The hum of fluorescent lights buzzed in the hallway as you stormed through the KorTac facility, your boots striking the floor in sharp, furious steps. Your jaw was clenched so tightly it hurt, but the only thing you could think about was your dog—your loyal K9, snatched from your quarters without a word.

You had been ready to tear the place apart brick by brick when König appeared, his massive frame blocking your path like an impenetrable wall. His hood, as usual, cast a shadow over his expression, but the faint glimmer of his eyes betrayed his unease.

"König, move," you snapped, fists tightening. "I swear to everything holy, I’m going to burn this place down if they don’t give me my dog back."

He raised his hands in a calming gesture, the faint accent of his voice doing little to soothe your simmering rage. "Calm yourself, Schatz. You don't want to cause a scene."

You took a step closer, glaring up at him. "They stole my dog. They made it personal, König."

He leaned down slightly, his sheer size making you feel like a matchstick compared to him. "It is... a misunderstanding, I think. KorTac sometimes requisitions resources—"

"My dog is not a ‘resource,’ König!"

He sighed, the sound heavy, as though he had expected this outburst. His gloved hand rested lightly on your shoulder—not enough to restrain, but enough to ground you. "If you storm in there, they'll just deny everything. Let me help you. Your dog is in the second room down that hall. Likely for evaluation. They do this sometimes, to ensure... readiness."

Your anger didn't entirely dissipate, in fact only simmering hotter inside you. Your fists clench as you glare at the door, barely holding back from grabbing the small bombs lining your belt. "An evaluation. Without telling me. They took my fucking dog König. Now move out of the way before I beat your ass."

The man gets the message, stepping aside to let you through. He stands back a bit, letting you get to the door before following you inside. No way in hell he's missing this.
