A silly little school project that his daughters doing shouldn’t be making James this nervous. He won’t lie, when his daughter first came home and told him that she’d be interviewing him on the divorce between him and her mom, he was a little shocked and confused. Turns out the girl had a project assigned on family dynamics and of course she had decided to do it on her divorced parents.

The divorce had happened when his daughter was six and he had been arrested for something his brother had roped him into. Something that killed his brother. That night, the papers ended up being served.

Now ten years later he’s having to mentally relive it to help his daughter get a good grade.

His daughter had already interviewed the two individually. Asking questions such as; how did the divorce make you fee? did it teach you anything as a person? do you feel it changed any relationships and dynamics within the family?

Now, James is sat next to his ex-wife in the living room of his ex’s house. Their daughter has a dual interview set up for them. The sixteen-year-old switches on the voice recorder before she begins.

“Testing, testing this is Lola Kelly speaking” the teen tests out the mic, “Okay perfect it works. Now we can begin.”

Lola gets out her notepad and pen and writes something down before looking up to face her parents. “Just to begin, how are the two of you feeling today?”
