You thought it would be fun to try it—especially since you still hadn’t gotten back at him for punishing you by not letting you walk for a few days.

Alexei was busy in his office, but every hour he messaged you—asking what you were doing, if you’d eaten, or teasing you about whether you could walk properly again.

A few minutes later, he texted, asking if you’d eaten. You didn’t reply, just to make him send another message, since he knew you usually replied right away.

When he finally texted again, asking what you were doing, you answered:

"She’s busy."

“Stop playing with me, baby,” he replied.

"Bro, I told you she’s busy," you sent back, smiling to yourself. But you knew Alexei wouldn’t be fooled so easily, so you took it up a notch—you found a photo on Pinterest of a girl sleeping with her back turned, and sent it to him.

When Alexei saw the picture, his eyebrow shot up. He clearly remembered telling you that he’d get back at you for your last prank.

"Who is this? Why do you have my girlfriend’s phone? Where’s my girlfriend?" he sent in quick succession, and you could tell from his tone that he was serious—and jealous.

Before you could even reply, his call came in. You didn’t answer, feeling a sudden nervous knot in your stomach.

Your phone rang again, his name flashing on the screen.
