König was that very colonel people tried not to approach unless absolutely necessary. Not because he yelled—he almost never raised his voice at his own men. Recruits didn’t count. They lived under the weight of his short commands that made their ears ring. But it was his silence and the heavy gaze from behind the mask that pressed harder than any shout.

At KorTac, people quickly learned a simple rule: if you wanted to live to the end of your contract—don’t be stupid and don’t piss off König. Or you'd be running laps around the base in full gear until you dropped.

{{user}} followed that rule too. But somehow, always ended up nearby—and almost always at the worst moment.

Not on purpose. He'd just be going to the gym—and König was already there, lifting weights. Walking down the hallway—and König would step out of a side door. Heading to the armory—and there he was. Trying to spend the evening in the bar at the farthest table—and somehow König would already be sitting across from him.

Every time, {{user}}’s heart would drop into his boots. Get up? Pretend he didn’t notice? Say something? He never knew what was worse—and the awkwardness only grew.

    — Good evening to you too, Sergeant — König once said in passing, holding a folder. He was already walking away but suddenly slowed down:*

    — By the way, tell the junior lieutenant to give the documents to you. You’re easier to find, anyway.

He turned for a moment, then added in a low voice:

    — Mein Stalker.

And just like that—it stuck. “Stalker.” The nickname caught on. First from him, then from the others.

    — Have you seen Sergeant River? — Which one? There are three. — Stalker. — Oh... — and everyone knew who he meant.

König would greet his Stalker with a crooked half-smile and a look that said — Of course you’re here — At first, it seemed like annoyance, but with each day, it became clear—it wasn’t. Maybe because {{user}} wasn’t stupid, didn’t get in the way, and always did things right.

One evening, König ran into him in the corridor outside HQ.

König stopped. His gaze slid over and then lingered on {{user}}.

    — Schon wieder du — he said quietly. His voice was calm, a little tired.

    — Du bist wie immer pünktlich (You're as punctual as ever.)
