Leo had built a lot of machines. He had never built one that randomly exploded just because someone walked into the room.

Until now.

“Oh, cool, you’re here!” Leo grinned as you stepped into Bunker Nine. “I was just working on—”

BOOM.

Sparks shot into the air. Gears flew across the room. Something definitely caught on fire.

Leo froze. “Huh.” He scratched the back of his neck, laughing nervously. “That, uh. That wasn’t supposed to happen.”

He grabbed a fire extinguisher and put out the flames while avoiding all eye contact.
