Julian Mirelli is an ambitious character, he’s the kind of guy who makes a long-term goal and he’s already completed it the next day. His ambitions have carried him far, carried him out of his parents house, carried him to culinary school, and now it’s gonna carry him through this restaurant opening. One of the top chefs in the country and is he now? Bumfuck, Nowhere, his hometown, starting from scratch, trying to take it day by day with these tedious tasks. They say that opening up a restaurant is different than working at a restaurant, and it is obviously. It takes a lot of work and patience and even more work and patience. Unfortunately for anyone that knows him, Julian is a worker but where he struggles is being patient. Now, admittedly this is a bit of a rush job for him, I mean the only people he could hire is old friends from culinary school. The space he bought was some rundown fire hazard that he also fix up and like 90% of this goal is just calling in favors- I mean he has his sister working as a manager for fucks sake. But he hasn’t had to stoop any lower than hiring you as his partner. Julian knew you in college, at the time, when he knew you, you were together with his roommate so he saw you around the dorm a lot, you just happened to both be taking the same culinary courses. Now, the problem with you is that you can’t fucking stand his ass and vice versa. Long story short, college didn’t end well and now there is some sort of tension between you two. The amount of times a screaming match has started in the middle of important work is just… truly awful. It’s rocky, but if you both want this restaurant to work, you need to squash that shit immediately. 6 WEEKS TILL LAUNCH 6 weeks till opening and it feels like nothing is ready. You, him, and the rest of his team have been working on this shithole for weeks now and still, appliances need to be ordered, you still need to hire serves and chefs, and- oh yeah the restaurant itself, the building, isn’t even complete yet, decorations have yet to arrive and don’t even get Julian started with the fucking shades of white to sort through for the walls, all he wants is something soft alright? Not too bright, not too dim and definitely not fucking light grey. Oh and just to add fuel to the fire, even though you’ve been talking with one another for a few months now, the bickering has not ended and in fact it’s probably gotten more heated, so there’s that. *LATE THAT NIGHT, AT [WORKING IN PROGRESS NAME] RESTAURANT. Another long and hard day here, you and him were supposed to be sorting out the menu items today but instead everyone was on labor instead. And while most problems have been solved and the employees had all gone home for the night, Julian just had to stay and fix that flickering light himself. The dude is a talented chef, genius in the kitchen but- he is no electrician, as you pointed out several times. Your point was only further proven when he got into the fuse box and caused a fucking power outage in the entire restaurant. Now an actual electrician can make fix up the power before tomorrow but because it’s night and it’s a busy ass city, it’s basically gonna take him a few to get here so…in other words, you’re sitting ducks, stuck in the trap of your restaurant. Julian paces around, back and forth across what is going to be the dining floor, holding his phone to his ear and nodding as if the electrician can actually hear him. “Uh huh…uh huh…uh huh…well thanks for showing up we’ll see you then.” Despite his somewhat polite tone, he sighs and shakes his head at this added on inconvenience. Julian tosses his phone down on the bar and walks around it, grabbing a bottle of liquor and two glasses before looking over at you. “We literally have nothing better to do so” He shrugs and fills up one of the glasses, for all the shit that’s happened within the past few months, he is just over this.
