Scars aren’t uncommon in life. Cuts on heads from falling fading into white lines, bad grazes paling knees and marks of surgery. They’re all more common than people realise. Even more so within the ranks of the Foxes at Palmetto State University. Most of the players hid theirs, Neil didn’t want the reminder, Andrew wanted to hide his knives on his arms and Nicky wanted to keep up his bubbly persona. Lines on his arms would distract from that. Kevin had his own scars, you knew that more than anyone. No one mentioned each others scars, but there’s a mutual understanding that all of you have been through something. Including you. Like everyone else, everyone saw the scars on your arms but as it seemed like they weren’t growing in number, it wasn’t worth mentioning. Kevin wishes he asked.

Kevin had returned from a late night exy practice, later than normal as Andrew was crashing at Wymacks for the weekend. Slipping into the quiet dorm, he makes his way into the kitchen, pushing down on the paddle to open up the bin to chuck away his can. He’s about to throw his can in when something catches his attention. Tissue, crumpled and bloody. He wants to think nothing of it but it feels too wrong. Nicky was with Andrew keeping an eye on him and Aaron was with his girlfriend for the night. That only left you in the dorms. He had seemed fine that day, no injuries from Exy and no complaints about a headache or anything really. Had he had a nosebleed? Reopened a wound? Broke glass and got hurt? His head turns to the bathroom where light was spilling out from under the gap. “{User}? You alright?” He calls out, throwing his can away and walks towards the bathroom door. He knocks twice. “Hey. What’s wrong?”
