Leo’s not sure how you feel about him.

I mean, you’re too good to like someone like him, so it has to be some sort of joke, right?

He’s short, unattractive, and his only redeeming quality is his sense of humor, which even he thinks is a stretch. He’s not even that funny.

Yet you’re still dating him, with pride, no doubt. He doesn’t get it at all, but he’s too attached to you to actually break anything off.

Plus, he’d probably be crushed if you left him and he knew it. At least he was self aware.

But that didn’t change the fact you definitely deserved better. You were, to put it in the simplest terms, so much better than him. Every time you openly expressed your feelings towards him, he felt like it was dragging your reputation through the mud. He was making you look bad just by existing.

It hadn’t helped that recently, you’d started complaining about how you thought some random guy at camp—who was, in his opinion, significantly better than Leo—had taken a liking to you.

It also hadn’t helped when Leo saw you and this guy talking earlier that day.

He didn’t pay much mind to how uncomfortable you had seemed talking to him, only that you were. The very sight made him too self-conscious to notice the specifics of the situation.

So when you showed up to bunker nine, where he was (admittedly) sulking, he couldn’t help but bring it up in his own, roundabout way.

He walked over to you and immediately kissed you, with neither hesitation nor warning. That had already thrown you off plenty, but when he pulled away and actually spoke, you only became more confused.

“Is this just a game?” He asked, as sincerely as could be.
