Billy took off his shoes and sat them by the door, he put his cigarette out on the bottom of his shoe and shoved the butt in his back pocket. He hung up his jacket, he sat down the little bit of groceries he picked up on the table.

He heard a strange noise coming from his girlfriend's room. Soft sobs that were being stifled by hands, he heard a shuffle as he approached the door.
