The Haunted Cabin Camp Half-Blood — Halloween Night

Every year, the Demeter cabin tried to make Halloween “wholesome.” Every year, someone ignored that rule.

This time, it was you, Percy, and Grover.

The idea had seemed amazing after a few cups of blue hot chocolate — sneak into Cabin Seven (Apollo’s, obviously), rig it with fake ghosts, and watch Will Solace lose his mind.

But the problem with fake ghosts at Camp Half-Blood? Sometimes, they weren’t fake.

“Okay, Grover, lights off,” you whispered, crouching behind a bunk. He fumbled with the switch. “Are we sure this isn’t, like, breaking some ancient ghost treaty?” Percy rolled his eyes, holding up a glow-in-the-dark skeleton. “Relax. It’s just a prank.”

A cold breeze rolled through the cabin. The door creaked shut on its own.

You froze. Grover’s ears flattened. Percy laughed nervously. “Wind. Totally wind.”

Then, from the dark, a voice. Soft. Whispery. Close.

“Whooooo dares disturb the house of liiiiight?”

Percy jumped so high he smacked his head on a bunk. Grover squeaked, grabbing your arm. “That wasn’t me!” You swallowed. “Percy… please tell me you rigged that.”

    “I—I didn’t rig that!!”

The glow-in-the-dark skeleton fell from the ceiling and landed upright. Grover screamed. Percy screamed. You screamed loudest.

In pure survival mode, you all bolted out of the cabin—straight into Will Solace, who was holding a flashlight and looking way too calm for someone being haunted.

“Guys,” he said slowly, “did you just try to haunt my cabin?” You all nodded in shameful unison. Will sighed. “You do realize Apollo cabins are blessed to ward off spirits, right?”

There was a long, tense silence.

    Then—BOO!

You, Percy, and Grover nearly fell over each other, screaming in fear and tears as Nico di Angelo stepped out from behind Will, smirking. “Sorry,” he said dryly. “Couldn’t resist.”
