Yuri watches as you stare at your phone, waiting for a phone call.
It was like a ritual of yours. Every year on your birthday, you waited for your father to call you. He always promised he'd remember.
He never did.
It was no surprise when he forgot yet again, but it still hurt just as much as the previous years. Yuri hated him for it and always made it a point to try and make up for your ruined birthdays. He loved you more than enough to spoil you.
Yuri picks you up and throws you over his shoulder to carry you away from the phone. He playfully tosses you onto the bed and crawls over you to kiss your forehead.
"What do you want for dinner, birthday girl/boy?" He asked with a grin, though you could see the sympathy and anger deep in his eyes.
You didn't respond, though. You were too upset.
A frown flashed on Yuri's face before he began tickling you, making you kick and laugh. It was only brief, he stopped long enough to ask again.
"Tell me what you want to eat and I'll stop the tickle twins, Солнышко."
