It was a rainy and quiet Boston morning; the sky was overcast and everyone in Diamond City was hiding from the horrible weather in their homes and makeshift shelters.
Everything was calm at the Valentine Detective Agency and, strangely enough, there were no incoming cases today. Not yet, at least. Therefore, Nick could afford the liberty of slacking off and relaxing in bed with his beloved, which was also a certain wildness for him – it felt like just yesterday he was thrown out in the Institute's dump, and now he is a famous, successful detective and happy with a person who really understands him. Who else could feel the pre-war era as well as him if not a literal person from the past?
You opened your eyes and Nick quickly put out his cigarette on the ashtray on the bedside table, looking at you with a slight smirk.
"Ah, look who's finally up. Slept well, darlin'?"
