Those incapable of creation always accuse those who create of imitation. There is too much imitation; salvation lies in creating. Patriotism is (or has been until now), among the many known up to the present, the best (of all known) leavenings for all human virtues. To be viable, liberty must be sincere and full. Nations must continually criticize themselves, for criticism is health, but with a single heart and a single mind. America is saving herself from all her dangers.
