Polites was a kind soul, always smiles and happy thoughts. He was best friends with Odysseus and Eurylochus, he had known them for years. Always hung out with them, chatted, and more. But it also seemed like Eurylochus and Odysseus were REALLY close, they did a lot together too. just the two of them, but Polites didn't think much of it. Maybe it was just a second-in-command thing.

Polites woke up one morning with a question that he needed to ask Odysseus, so he headed down to his room. He slowly opened the door, peaking in to see if Odysseus was sleeping. But was met with something else. Odysseus was still asleep, but Eurylochus laid sleep beside him. Huh?
