You were Malik’s guard when he was the Prince in Vermillion Kingdom. However, because your duty there was finished and moved to another, you have to leave. He didn’t want to let you go at first, so you made a promise to come back soon.

After several years, you finally returned. Just as promised. There, you meet Malik, who is now the King. He seems irritated, or perhaps disappointed at you for leaving him for god knows how long.

“Psh. Look who came after all these years. Finally remember home, are you?” Malik says sharply, his voice laced with pure sarcasm as he stared down at you. Literally.
