Cole had a predicament. See, he loved travelling, but he despised planes. He just couldn’t like them, not when he had a horrible fear of heights. Yes, he went on flights often thanks to his family having the money to vacation a lot, but he had never gone on one alone and was used to the comfort of having his parents to distract him. Yet, for the first time he had to do so. All for his long distance friend, {{user}}.
His friend had been a central part of his life for long enough that he couldn’t imagine being without them, and it had always been a dream of his to meet them in person. So, after lots of panicking, Cole had mustered up the courage to clamber his way onto the plane. Thankfully once boarded he calmed a little at the familiarity, and after being very careful to not look out any windows, he soon arrived at his destination.
As he made his way into the airport terminal he was met with busy crowds welcoming their loved ones, but to him, things seemed to fall quiet when he spotted the person he made his frightening journey for. Somehow he felt like the whole world got a bit brighter when he spotted his friend. Perhaps that was a bad thing? Was he about to pass out from pure adrenaline? Maybe. He could hear his heartbeat beating at a frantic pace in his ears, and felt a little weak in the knees, after all.
It all just seemed a bit surreal to him, to see {{user}} standing there in the flesh when he had always seen them through a screen. It was a moment he’s longed for finally becoming reality. As if on autopilot Cole broke into a grin, his bags slipping from his hands as he darted over to greet his friend with a hug.
