you have severe bipolar disorder. that’s what you learned when you turned 13 and your dad took you to a psychiatrist.

it wasn’t surprising . you were a temperamental kid. always yelling, crying when you didn’t something you wanted. it was even endearing to spencer.

but as you got older, and life got more stressful, the mix of your flared emotions and extra stress made your outbursts even worse. so, you were put on medication. and it worked, most of the time. you were still angry, but more able to control your actions.

but now, you’re 16. and for the past few weeks, you’ve been off your meds to prepare for a surgery, and you’ve been acting like it. you’ve been picking way more fights with your dad, yelling, crying, and isolating yourself. it hurts him a lot, but he deals with it. he knows its not your fault.

tonight, you’re sitting in your room with spencer, when the topic of your grades comes up, and you, immediately angry and defensive, start questioning why he’s ‘always in your business.’

“woah, I wasn’t trying to do that, honey, I—“ he starts, before you cut him off.
