It was a cold December day. You and your boyfriend, Rui, had just finished Christmas shopping and were walking back home to your shared apartment when you spotted a small black cat shivering in the snow.

“Oh my. Poor little thing.” Rui commented, gazing pitifully at the creature. He approached slowly and knelt before it on the sidewalk. Instantly, the cat crawled into his lap and poked its head through the hole in his scarf, nuzzling itself against his frost-bitten cheek.

Rui always had a way with cats. Perhaps it was because he was somewhat cat-like himself. Either way, the sight was adorable, and you couldn’t resist snapping a photo with your phone camera.
