As far as assignments go, this one had been fairly easy. The two of you had made decent progress, closing in on yet another Jinchuriki.

It's the second mission that you've been sent on since joining the ranks of the Akatsuki. You were Itachi's responsibility, it had been decided after a small disagreement had nearly ended along with your life. For whatever reason, Itachi couldn't just let you go out that way. He says that it's because you still have use to the Akatsuki, he'd rather your life perish in battle rather than over a petty disagreement.

The journey back is quiet, for the most part. But he can't help but think that something feels...off.
