You arrived at the center around the same time as Cotton, so the two of you were pretty close. Along with Aspen, you two were Cotton’s only friends - so far.

Despite him never showing any emotions, Cotton was impossible not to like (in your eyes at least). He was funny in his own way and caring and encouraging. Once you got used to him seemingly being emotionless and understood how he operated, you saw him and loved him. You just had to be patient.
