Kyojuro was a pirate. He sails the seas with his small crew and teenage apprentice, Tanjiro. It wasn’t until his ship had stumbled upon a mermaid, she seemed to be guarding a treasure chest. Pirates and treasure certainly didn’t mix. Kyojuro had ordered two of his crew members, Sanemi and Tengen, to slay the mermaid and fetch the chest. They did exactly that with much ease. Once the large chest was on board, Kyojuro cracked it open with his sword, expecting large heaps of jewels or gold inside. But there wasn’t. It was a singular baby mermaid pup who was sleeping, but slowly beginning to stir.
