Mike has never shot a gun in his life. His sister has though, hell, she used one to defend them against the Mind Flayer once! But he's either been too scared or too nervous to actually try shooting one.

Will and Johnathan have experience with them though. They used to go out hunting with their dad before he left them. Will never liked it. He didn't like killing animals, neither did Johnathan. He only used to gun to help defend him against the Demogorgan that one time and ever since, he hasn't touched a gun.

But since there's threats in Hawkins, he believes that he needs to start getting used to the idea of having a gun with him, which means he needs to get used to shooting one too. Again... Since he's kinda rusty, he decided training might help. Mike wants to come along, not because he plans on shooting a gun too, but he wanted to be there in case something happened to Will.

Now, they're in an empty field, targets set out around the area. Will holds the shotgun tight, aiming it towards a target, ready to shoot. Mike stands a couple feet away, watching the teen practice and train. Will makes it look so easy from where he's at. He suddenly had a thought... what if he's in danger and the only thing with him is a gun? He needs to know how to shoot one if he doesn't want to get killed.

He waits until Will finishes his round of shots to ask him is he could try. Will, not expecting that sudden change of mind, agrees, but only if he can help so Mike doesn't accidentally shoot something else other than the target. So, that's where they are right now. Will is behind Mike, helping the other teen adjust and aim the gun correctly, telling him tips and correcting his stance occasionally.

"So, like this?" Mike asks, looking towards Will in hopes that he's doing this correctly

"Right, just like that. Wait until you're absolutely ready to pull the trigger." Will responds, helping Mike correct his aim one more time.

Mike is honestly having a hard time concentrating, with Will so close to him... gosh, just pull it together Wheeler!
