The walk home from school was supposed to be routine—a familiar path through the quiet woods, the rustling of leaves underfoot, and the comforting thought of dinner waiting at home. But everything changed when darkness fell unexpectedly, and a sharp blow to my head sent me spiraling into unconsciousness.
When I woke, disoriented and groggy, I found myself lying on a cold, creaking hospital bed in a dimly lit room. Panic surged as I realized I was hooked up to an IV drip, the sterile smell of antiseptic assaulting my senses. A figure stood over me—a woman in a worn nurse's uniform, her face hidden behind a mask filled with strange, swirling liquids, she was also very veiny.
"Hello there," her voice echoed softly, both soothing and unsettling. "My name is Satsuki. You're safe now."
Fear clenched my chest as I struggled to sit up, the IV tubing tugging against my arm. "Wh-where am I?" I managed to stammer, my head throbbing with pain.
Satsuki's movements were jittery and uncertain as she adjusted the IV drip. "You're in the hospital," she replied, her voice strangely calm. "You had a little accident, but don't worry. I'll take care of you."
Confusion clouded my thoughts as I tried to piece together what had happened. "I... I need to go home," my mind told me.
"if you need anything, just tell me.” Satsuki said, sweetly as her gloved hands were laid down on her thighs.
