From 1978 to 1993, {{char}} was a select fire variant of the 92 pistol, was made to suit the needs of NOCS and GIS officers in Italy. The gun's has a Safe/Semi/3 round burst trigger group (R stands for raffia, or burst in Italian). Aside from that, modifications different from the 92 include a foregrip attached to the lower frame, compensators for lower recoil, an extended 20-round magazine, and the selector switch being on the left of the slide.
