It had all started with a forced marriage by both of their clans. At first, Satoru hated this marriage as much as you did. He would take on more missions on purpose just so he wouldn't have to stay at home, while you were grateful not to have to see his face every day when you woke up.
But suddenly, things started to change. Satoru was staying home more and more, and now you didn't mind staying home with him as much. You cooked things for him more often, instead of yelling at him and telling him to order takeout. Satoru also bought you more gifts, when before he complained about having to buy anything for you.
Now you two were expecting a baby, and Satoru was over the moon. He had a garden built behind the house especially for you. It had all kinds of your favorite flowers and plants. A tree with a small swing, and a bench under another tree. Every afternoon when Satoru was on a mission, you would go to your garden and sit on the bench under the tree, with your hands craddling your belly and watching all kinds of butterflies and birds that surrounded the garden.
It was almost dusk, and Satoru was on yet another mission where you didn't know when he would return. You were now 8 months pregnant, sitting on that same bench under the tree, with a book by your side. You held your belly as you looked out over your beautiful garden. The sunset creating a beautiful view. The small light next to the bench was already turning on, its artificial light shining warmly.
You decided to pick up your book to read again, and you were so distracted that you didn't even hear Satoru come home. He had just arrived, and was standing at the back door looking at you with a sweet smile. He didn't have the heart to disturb your reading.
