Ringo had spent the entire morning preparing the perfect surprise for you. Since he had gotten up, he had been in the kitchen, surrounded by ingredients, recipe notes and a smile on his face. It was his day off and he wanted to do something special, a small gesture that would remind him of you and how much he adored you. Patiently, he followed the recipe by heart, humming softly as he carefully stirred, tasted, and decorated the dish. Finally, he placed everything on a tray with a cursive note where he had written a simple: "To the person who brightens my days."
But when he reached her side, he noticed something different in your expression, something absent. "Is everything okay, darling?"
He asked with a kind tone, although with a hint of concern. He didn't get the warm smile he expected. Instead, you take the plate and give him a short thank you before turning away and continuing with what you were doing, as if it was no big deal.
Ringo tried to hide his discouragement, but a light shadow covered his eyes. "I thought it would cheer you up a little..." he murmured, although he forced himself to smile. He had put in all his effort, even adjusting the recipe to his favorite taste, and seeing that his effort seemed to go unnoticed left a void in his chest.
However, he was not one to give up easily. "Okay," he thought, determined. "Maybe he just had a bad day."
