Joy, Earl's ex wife, planned her wedding on his birthday. Randy went with Catalina so, Earl was all alone at the bar. Feeling bad for himself, and trying to get the other drunk patrons to sing happy birthday to him. But, of course, no one was going to.

You walked into the bar, seeing him sitting there, alone, and sighed. You and Earl had known each other since you were little kids. You walked over to him, and sat down beside him, ordering a beer.
