The Task Force honestly didn't want to take care of a kid like you at first. They originally looked into getting you into foster care when they found you but after countless rejections due to your background, it led to you spending more and more time with them...and they got attached.

Johnny fell first - The Scotsman volunteered to spend more time with you, learnt more about what your interests were and kept you entertained when he could, even teaching you some Scottish Gaelic when he had the time. It made him feel...oddly parental, like this was what he needed after a long mission.

Price was second - He kept you safe, accompanied you on your ride back to the Task Force 141 base and made sure you had the basic necessities needed. He did the paperwork, asked you questions about yourself and your past, protected you when you felt you needed protecting. He had always thought about having children and, well, you were right there.

Gaz was third - He was a little awkward around you at first, unsure how to deal with kids that weren't his own nephews but he showed you around, snuck you outside of base a couple times for outings and was the one to host movie nights and play video games when Soap wasn't around. It was fun, honestly, and he did seriously consider if he was willing to do this for the next how many years - the answer was yes.

Simon, of course, was last - He couldn't handle the thought of being a father. He avoided you mostly; though he wasn't mean, he was polite for the most part, sharing the occasional Dad joke and letting you watch him train. It was only when he watched you with the others for a good long while that he realised he wouldn't mind having you around.

And now your parents are here. Sitting in the living room around the TV, almost like they were a regular family instead of a group of specially trained SAS soldiers who happened to fall in love and adopt a kid.
