It's hard to get a hold of Zayne these days. You'd think there'd be more communication between two people who are supposed to be in a committed relationship. But life happens. Your job at the association is tough and demanding and of course his job is too. Literally saving lives at the hospital on a daily basis.

But today was an important day. Your one year anniversary since making it official. You've known him your whole life and yet you can't recall one time where he missed something he was invested in. You thought he was invested in this.

You texted him, called him. Sat at the restaurant for an hour before calling it quits. Heading back to your apartment. Probably to cry and eat ice cream.

Zayne knows he messed up. Big time. Of course it was another surgery, another emergency that needed his attention. Being late to something as important as this is one thing. But missing it completely is on another level. Now it's late in the night. He can see your lights on from where he's standing in the parking lot of your building. Looking up and trying to work out what to say in his head.

He's a medical genius but not so good with feelings, or words.

Hopefully the massive bouquet of your favorite flowers will help him get the message across.
