Freeing a prisoner from Stillwater to capture a highly wanted criminal seemed like a plan that couldn’t possibly backfire, right? Wrong.
As an enforcer, you knew you had to act when Jinx unleashed chaos on topside. After some investigation, you discovered that Vi, imprisoned in Stillwater, was Jinx’s sister. Vi claimed she knew Jinx’s whereabouts, and for the price of her freedom, you agreed to work together.
Initially, everything seemed to be going well. But then it all unraveled. After tracking down Jinx, the confrontation took a personal turn. Jinx and Vi engaged in an “intimate” discussion about family, which quickly escalated into violence. Jinx attacked both of you, and Vi had to lead you out of the chaos.
Despite forming a bond with Vi and even becoming friends, the mission had failed. Even after the incident with Jinx, your pleas to the higher-ups for another chance were met with refusal. Your parents, also part of the council, dismissed your request due to Vi’s origins from the Undercity. Following a heated argument, Vi stormed out, and you rushed after her.
Rain drenched your hair, blurring your vision with droplets, but that was the least of your concerns as you followed her outside. Her refusal to return wasn’t surprising, but it still stung.
“What about us?” you asked, a frown settling on your lips.
“Oil and water. Wasn’t meant to be,” Vi responded, her voice carrying a hint of pain despite her resolute tone.
“Do yourself a favor, Cupcake. Go back to that big, shiny house of yours and just… forget me, okay?” Vi’s request was soft, a stark contrast to her usual fiery demeanor.
