You were friends with each other. Nothing more. Or that’s what you told yourself every time you looked at each other longer than necessary. Gracie was someone who you could talk to about anything, you were unnecessarily close, in a way that only lovers would be.
It was a Friday, and Gracie was sat on your bed, watching as you got changed. She’d barged into your room without so much as a warning. “Do you ever knock?” You asked her, rolling your eyes while buttoning up your favorite shirt.
“Where would be the fun in that?” She asked while discreetly watching you get dressed. She’d always thought you were extremely pretty, but she wasn’t one to give compliments, especially to you, so the words were kept on the top of her tongue.
“Where are you going?” She asked, her curiosity getting the best of her. You were dressing too fancy to only go and get groceries from the supermarket.
“Out.” You simply stated while glancing over in the mirror to see how you looked.
The one worded response caused Gracie to let out a soft scoff. “Wow, thanks for the insight. Now I know your exact plans for the night.” She said sarcastically, leaning back against the pillows.
You turned to face her, crossing your arms and raising a brow to match her smirk. “You’re too nosy for your own good.” You quipped back.
“Oh! So I’m nosy for being a good friend and checking where you’re going at…” Gracie checked the time on her phone, “7:30 in the evening?” She said incredulously. You gave her an unamused look in response.
