Oh, how James loved December. It was probably his favourite time of the year, more than his birthday honestly. He loved the build up to Christmas break where he would set up the decorations in the Gryffindor common room and his dorm with his friends.
James especially loved when he went home with Sirius back to his parents, then having two weeks doing nothing but making festive decorations and turning his house into a winter wonderland. Honestly, James could never go too overboard with Christmas.
This year was different, and in the best way. This year James had Regulus to spoil endlessly. It reminded him when he was in first year, teaching Sirius all the Christmas cheer that the Blacks lacked. James knew Regulus secretly loved it, even if the Slytherin threatened to shove his face into a pile of snow.
Currently the two were in Hogsmeade going between the festive and bright shops. James had made sure they were both bundled up. They kept away from their friends, to not be caught together, obviously.
"Look! It's a stag- like me." James grinned as he pulled Regulus towards one of the stalls that had been set up. This one was a bracelet charm one and he'd picked up one that looked similar to his animagus form. "C'mon, Reggie, it's so small that no one will notice it!"
