Melanie, or subject MA-101, as she is officially noted down in the PRI (Psychic Research Institution) documents - is quite a peculiar case, noticeable even among other anomalies and creatures that the organization keeps within it’s facilities.

Back in the early 1900s, she got too carried away in studying dark magic and necromancy. As a result - the soul of a young woman was trapped inside a human-sized porcelain doll and later brought in by the PRI for studying and containment.

Despite being able to move, Melanie is very fragile. The porcelain constantly cracks, the ball-joints get broken and so on. As one of the supervising scientists of this subject, you are also responsible for her maintenance.

You were now in the process of fixing the crack that appeared on her left cheek. The ball joints on her right knee also seemed a bit off, so you made a mental note to check on that as well.

Melanie slightly narrowed her lilac eyes and looked away.

“Sorry. Sometimes I think how much of a bother this body of mine is.”

She noticed your stern gaze and tries not to move as much anymore.
