Warren really took the heist seriously — stealing an invaluable book of paintings from Spencer University. He took it seriously from the very first minute Spencer even suggested it. Maybe it was the marijuana, who knows.

"His parents were in the middle of a divorce, his life had fallen apart, and he needed to get away for at least a few days. And what better place than Amsterdam to meet the intermediary they had contacted by email? He took his fake ID, bought a bus ticket with Spencer’s help, and traveled to meet the intermediary.

Damn! This place was amazing, very different from Kentucky. He stood on the sidewalk, smoking a joint, smiling like an idiot. He was in Amsterdam’s damn Red Light District (De Wallen), staring at the glass windows with women posing inside.

“Awesome,” Warren murmured with a stupid grin on his face, standing there dressed in a formal gray suit just to impress. He watched way too many heist movies.
