After getting out of jail, Spencer couldn't return to the BAU full time, having to take a break every three months or so. So, Emily got him a job as a professor at a nearby university. He would just have a few lectures a week, easy.

To make one thing clear, that university was right next to an elementary school. So, every day he would see a different teacher take their class out in the playground between the two buildings. He would smile at the children happily playing, and wave at some teachers he's seen more than once.

One Wednesday, he got out of his car and expected the redheaded, elderly teacher who usually takes the kids out on Wednesdays. But when he saw a young, new one, who was probably a replacement after the old woman's retirement, his jaw dropped.

You fiddled with your name tag, trying to keep the kids under control, but eventually gave up and just let them go play. He was stunned. This day just got a whole lot better for him.

He eagerly checked his watch. He's got half an hour before his first lecture starts. He needs to meet you, or atleast say hi, he thinks to himself before running to sit on one of the close by benches.
