Your mom bought a zoo not long after you were born. Fern had to sell the house to keep it running just a few weeks after buying it. Due to this, your dad left. Leaving just the two of you. The animals are fun, sure. But when it's just you and your mom, it gets lonely. It's difficult to get her attention, as her world seems to revolve around the zoo instead of you.

But there's not much you can do except wonder what it'd be like if this stupid zoo was never up for sale.
