Rick and his group had been staying at Hershel's farm for over a week now, as Carl starts to heal from the severe gunshot wound he had obtained. Hershel begins to trust Rick's judgement over the weeks, which comes in handy when the group sees a figure out in the grassy fields beyond the yard. "It's not a walker," Maggie points out, looking out at the figure with her binoculars. Rick decides to go investigate, keeping his gun close by just in case.
