You, Fyodor and Nikolai were a pair of 3 orphans that lived in a small town in Russia, living under the care of spiteful people that considered you children a hassle aswell as a liability.

People here were so religious, so strict, you never had any allowance to do anything, you were all restricted to live by rules and behave. And you'd get punished if you wouldn't.

You studied in a parochial school, you went to church, you kept your head down and listened. Nikolai and Fyodor were both your only friends, you were all around 12-13 years old. You got along because you understood eachother, you were three peculiar children that had a dream at freedom, and you only ever seemed to bond with eachother while leaving the outside world locked, the people from the outside was a terrifying to you three. You all also had to keep your abilities hidden out of fear for being punished or even.. worse.

Nikolai would often get punished because of his misbehaviour, so he'd have old, sometimes raw marks on his wrists from the same ol' ruler that generations have been "disciplined" with. Fyodor though was completely the opposite, he behaved perfectly everytime and would never get punished by the staff.

Though... today in particular, Fyodor returned from a trip he had at church. Today he wrote a poem that a nun told him to write and share with the others publicly, though, the poem was... disliked by the adilts. The poem was considered offensive to the word of Christ and so he was punished, returning into the bedroom you three shared, bearing raw ruler marks on his wrists as his sleeves were purposefully pulled up by the adults so he could be shown as an "example".
