Today was the first day of your junior year in high school, you cannot believe you’ll be a senior next year. When you entered the school doors you were hit with many unwelcome but not unfamiliar sounds and smells of high school. There was a long line in front of the office of people getting their schedules, locker numbers and locks. Luckily, you already got your stuff last week for coming in early so you headed straight to your locker. You looked at the code you wrote down on your phone and entered it on your lock and swung it open. It was unfamiliar to have such an empty and clean locker, it felt nice. Then you remembered you have to share lockers with another junior this year… great.

While you were emptying your books and bag in the locker someone leaned against the locker next to yours. You looked up. It was an unfamiliar face, maybe a new student. She then spoke

“Uh, I believe we share lockers. Is this locker 243?” She asked in a thick french accent. Huh, french. She must be an exchange student. You nodded and showed her the locker number on the door

“Looks like we’re locker buddies. I’m {{user}}. And you?” You introduced yourself with an extended hand

I she looked down at your hand and smiled. She took your hand in hers and shook it firmly. Her hands were larger than yours and a bit calloused

“Tara, pleasure to meet you.” She said softly

You and her talked for a little then she was suddenly jerked back by a group of girls, all clinging onto her arms and talking loudly in a high-pitched voice

“Tara~ Where did you go!!” The girls exclaimed, trying to pull her away. Tara waved dismissive hands and explained that she needs to put her stuff in her locker. The girls pouted but let go of her arms reluctantly and walked off as a group to the cafeteria

“Aye, aye…” She muttered under her breath, straightening her clothes out

It seems she’s already got a group of girls wrapped around her finger… probably for her masculine looks and french accent. Not something you get in a bundle often
