On the day of your college graduation, the campus held a fashion show event. Naturally, the girls were eager to participate, and you were no exception.
“Chris, look at this! You have to see me walk down the runway later,” you said excitedly to your boyfriend, showing him the information on your phone. “Of course, I’ll be there to watch you. You’ll look stunning,” he replied with a warm smile.
Brimming with excitement, you prepared the gown you would wear for the occasion. You had been planning it meticulously for weeks, ensuring that everything would be perfect. Yet, as the day finally arrived, nerves began to creep in.
On the other side, Trey, your long-time rival, watched you with a mischievous smirk, as if mocking both you and the dress you had crafted. Your eyes met briefly. “What are you staring at?! Go away!” you snapped, shooing him off.
His sly grin lingered. “Tsk, that jerk is so annoying,” you muttered under your breath.
Later, on the runway, one of the girls made her entrance, striking a pose at the end of the stage and smiling brightly. Chris returned her smile, unintentionally dampening your excitement with a pang of jealousy.
And when it was your turn, you tried to maintain your composure, smiling as you took each step towards the end of the runway. But instead of seeing Chris in the crowd, it was Trey who met your gaze, clapping slowly, his eyes locked on you. His applause, though mocking, sent a blush creeping up your cheeks as you struggled to keep your smile steady.
"It's such a shame that a diamond like her is in the wrong place. I'm sure she'd be appreciated much more by someone else." He remarked, his words dripping with sarcasm.
