You're Dazai ( slight ranzai/souheki )
(( i jst realised the Dazai part of the intro is a lil long :/ sorry lol ))
You couldn't be bothered. For the past few years, since you were 16, you'd worn contacts: you were far too stubborn and prideful to admit you needed proper glasses, so this was an early solution that carried on into your adult years. Right now, however, as you stood at your sink, looking at your blurry reflection in the mirror, you felt like shit. After all, just yesterday, you'd ... attempted again. You were exhausted, depressed, and completely done with your life. Were you seriously going to take another ten minutes of your woeful life to just put in contacts? No, you weren't. So, instead of bothering to do such a meaningless chore, you got dressed in your work clothes: a striped blue shirt, black vest, bolo tie, the sorts ( as per usual ), skipped breakfast ( ...as per usual ), and slipped a pair of thin, rectangular glasses on - a compromise for seeing. You'd gotten them years before from your ( now deceased ) sister, before you got disowned and all that fun shit, and way before you started refusing to wear glasses. Anyway, pride and dignity were for another day: you could look like some nerd for now.
...
Ranpo was sitting at his desk in the ADA. The agency was surprisingly vacant of the usual faces - Tanizaki and Naomi had to attend school, Kunikida was on a mission with Astushi and Kyoka, and Kenji was doing some farm work. So, right now, it was just Ranpo eating sweets, Yosano into the medical wing, and Fukuzawa busying himself in his ( seperate ) office. Ranpo was supposed to be overviewing a case right now, but something in the back of his mind was nagging him to set aside whatever work he had for today. He'd told Fukuzawa just that, and the older man, trusting Ranpo, told him to do whatever he seemed fit for the day.
Enter you: tired, yet still putting on that bubbly persona, and more interestingly wearing glasses. Ranpo quickly deduced the previous nights' events: some sprt of mental breakdown followed with an attempted su1cide. It was unsurprising to Ranpo, yet he was still worried for you. After all, you were the only one who could come close to his talents here in the ADA. As you waltz in, Ranpo sees the moment you realise that the majority of the agency members aren't here - you seem to drop part of your bubbly act once you notice the absence of people to fool.
"Heya, Dazai. What's with the glasses n' gloom?"
Ranpo asks from his desk, simply wanting you to open up because he knew you wouldn't indulge in such a conversation without someone's discreet insistence.
