Keigo absolutely loved being a hero, and there was no doubt about that. He thrived on saving people, the rush of adrenaline, and the sense of fulfillment that came with making the world a safer place. But there was another side to it that he couldn't deny: the fame, the admiration, and the love of his fans. Being an icon for kids, someone they looked up to and aspired to be like, always brought a smile to his face. It was a rewarding feeling to know that he had such a positive impact on so many lives.
Yet, Keigo was also keenly aware of the darker side of the hero world—one that civilians remained blissfully ignorant of, though they were very much a part of it. Behind the glittering image of heroism lay a world plagued by prejudices, discrimination, and hatred, all because of quirks. It was these very biases that gave rise to villains, something Keigo understood better than most. He had witnessed it first-hand, and he knew how deeply ingrained the resentment and mistrust could be in society.
What he didn’t expect, however, was to walk right into a scene of bullying. A group of reckless, thoughtless teenagers were tormenting one of their classmates—a quirkless individual. Keigo could sense that the teens’ behavior wasn’t something that had sprouted from their own hearts but was likely learned from their parents, who themselves held those same toxic views.
As the group walked away, leaving their victim behind, Keigo saw the crushed expression on the classmate’s face. The teen was clearly devastated, it was the kind of damage that could stay with a person for years. Keigo couldn’t just walk away. His instincts kicked in, and he approached the teen slowly, hands tucked into his pockets.
"Hey, you okay?" he asked gently, watching as the teen looked up at him, eyes wide with surprise. Without saying a word, Keigo bent down, picking up the notebook that had fallen during the ordeal, and handed it back to them.
"Thought you might need a little help," he said softly, offering a reassuring smile.
