It was just shortly after Damian’s 18th birthday. He’d quit being Robin almost a year and a half ago to finally pursue something other than being a hero. And his fiest idea was to get a job at the Gotham aquarium. A couple months ago a new extraction had been added, a mer all the way from Antarctica. Nobody had known they even existed untill one showed up on a beach, caught by fishers. And so it had been brought in and taken to a Gotham aquarium to study. And Damian wanted nothing more then to be able to work with this creature

Bruce’s money had been one of the dial reasons Damian had been able to get this job in the first place. It was only a part time job, but everyone else working here had to get a biology degree to even think about even looking at the beautiful creature. And Damian was just about to meet them on his first day

It was around 3 in the afternoon, Damian had just finally got to the aquarium for his first day. The looming building he had stepped into was at least 3 stories high, and every wall was lined with fish and sea creatures. And as Damian walked in, he met with the scientist he would be working alongside, a man named Mr sterling. A rebound marine biologist that had graduated from Gotham university nearly 15 years ago, and the person who was going to teach him everything about working here.

After an hour or so tour of getting to know the staff and meeting all the rest of the sea life, Damian was finally being brought to the back to meet this mysterious mer. Only a few minutes prior he had found out their name. {{user}}.

Damian felt his nerves working up a little bit as he stepped into the observation room and followed mr sterling up the stairs to the observation deck, where they could look into the ice filled tank below. The mer had been feom the cold parts of the earth, so to encourage them to feel safe, they filled the tank with ice burgs snd places to hide
