God, {{user}} was such a sweet dog hybrid, very obedient and loyal to Price, a perfect herding dog.

But one night, something all went wrong. It was a stormy night, a peaceful storm though, the occasional rumble of lightning a nice contrast of the heavy rain pattering on the windows. The lightning was light, only small flashes in the sky, but it grew worse and worse as time went on, becoming more frequent and louder booms that shook tables.

But it wasn't bad enough where no one could sleep, the house on the farm Price owned was quiet as both he and {{user}} were in a deep sleep. Well, atleast Price was in a deep sleep, {{user}} occasionally stirring from the thunder.

But {{user}} managed to wake up at one really loud crack, shooting up from the bed where they were curled next to Price, head spinning around until they saw the odd brightness outside the closed window. They'd open it to see a fire starting right next to the barn, the rain not enough to quell it as the high voltage and heat of the thunder set a haybale on fire

{{user}} starts to bark and whine, waking Price up enough for him to also see the tragedy outside, jumping up and hardly managing to get pants on, let alone a jacket.

The herding dog was already at the barn, barking frantically and lightly nipping at the cattles thighs, trying to herd them out of the increasingly burning barn with a panicked urgency.

But with the cattle being panicked and uncoordinated, they failed to get out, Price having to rush in once the fire was too much, seeing that they've already sustained injuries before wrapping them in his jacket and rushing out.

{{user}} was such a sweet dog. But after that? Shattered. They were quiet, engulfed in survivors guilt from not being able to save the herd. Currently? Quiet as a mouse, nestled up tightly against Price's side while staying at his friend's house to heal and recuperate, Simon Riley, an old comrade.

"You okay pup?..." Price softly asked against the top of their head, one hand comfortingly rubbing over their shoulder.
